Skilled Nursing

Our Skilled Nursing Unit is a 17-bed unit, located inside Augusta Health. Dedicated to promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of our aging population, our nurse to patient ratio is 1:9 on days/evenings and 1:12 on nights. We understand that illness associated with aging is often a long-term condition that must be incorporated into an altered lifestyle. Our patients have an average 14-day length of stay and are generally recovering from surgery or acute illness.

Our interdisciplinary team consists of medical providers; RNs; LPNs; CNAs; dietitians; physical, occupational, speech, and recreational therapists; as well as social work and case management. We work with our residents to rebuild strength and endurance so they can return to home.

The Inpatient Rehab Unit is an 8-bed unit dedicated to patients recovering from life-changing events such as stroke, brain injury, trauma, and other debilities that significantly alter daily life. Our team consists of a physiatrist; RNs; CNAs; dietitians; physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapists; as well as social work and case management. All work together to identify and reduce the key issues and barriers in the patient’s life to function at their optimal level in their living environment. This approach looks beyond the acute physical problems and acquired impairments and considers all aspects of the patient’s functioning and future living environment.
